When to re-sync
Know when you need to sync your Swell data to Framer — and when you don't.
You need to re-sync when...
Re-sync if you've made changes in Swell that affect your design layout:
Change in Swell | Why re-sync? |
|---|---|
Added new products | New items won't appear in Framer CMS until synced |
Deleted products | Removed items will still show in canvas until synced |
Changed product titles | Canvas will show old titles |
Changed product images | Canvas will show old images |
Added/removed categories | Category components won't reflect changes |
Changed product descriptions | Canvas will show old descriptions |
You don't need to re-sync when...
The live site fetches this data directly from Swell, so changes appear automatically:
Change in Swell | Why no re-sync? |
|---|---|
Price changes | Live site fetches current prices |
Sale/discount updates | Live site fetches current sale prices |
Inventory updates | Live site checks stock in real-time |
Variant availability | Live site fetches current variant status |
Your canvas might show outdated prices, but the live site will always be correct.
How to re-sync
Open the TGC plugin in Framer
Go to the Sync tab
Select the categories you want to update (or keep your existing selection)
Click Sync selected
Existing products will be updated. New products will be added. Deleted products will be removed from the CMS.
Sync frequency recommendations
Store type | Suggested sync frequency |
|---|---|
Small catalog (<50 products) | After any product changes |
Medium catalog (50-200 products) | Weekly or after significant changes |
Large catalog (200+ products) | When adding new products or major updates |
There's no harm in syncing frequently — it just takes a moment.
